The Energy Charter Secretariat launched the seventh edition of its flagship report, Energy Investment Risk Assessment (EIRA), during the Ministerial Meeting of the Energy Charter Conference on 4 December 2024.
The EIRA report represents an effort of the Energy Charter Secretariat to guide the Members and Observers of the Energy Charter Conference in making their legal and regulatory frameworks resilient while responsive to the evolving demands of the energy transition, mobilising investment in clean energy technologies and increasing the preparedness of governments and investors for the ongoing energy transition. At the same time, the report also offers the investor community information on the latest developments in the energy sector of the participating countries, including their policy targets, future strategic direction, revisions to laws and regulations, and incentives offered to facilitate investments in innovative clean energy solutions.
The Energy Charter Secretariat is grateful to the countries that participated in the report this year, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Vietnam, as well as the speakers who shared their views on the report at the launch event, Mr. Ibrahim Sulu, Director of Renewable Energy, Energy Commission of Nigeria; Mr. Andre Bucyana, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda to the Kingdom of Belgium; Mr. Tran Ngoc Quan, Trade Counsellor, Mission of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the European Union; and Prof. Peter Cameron, Professor of International Energy Law and Policy and Director of the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, University of Dundee.
